Dear Whitesboro Residents and Business Owners,

The Whitesboro Fire Department is a 100% volunteer fire department representing more than 4,300 residents and business owners in both the Village of Whitesboro and the Town of Whitestown.  This year, due to the demands of the incidents that we respond to, we will continue fund raising though our Annual Door-to-Door Fund Drive. This year our members will be coming to your homes to Monday, April 28th through Wednesday, April 30^th and Monday, May 5th through Wednesday, May 7th. Our department’s success can be attributed to the financial support that we have received from our residents and business through our previous fund drives. Funds collected from the residents and the businesses are used to offset the emergency services that we provide to the residents.

 In 2007 the Whitesboro Fire Department responded to over 670 fire and emergency medical responses.  These calls brought to the membership the many challenges that are faced each and every day in the life of a volunteer firefighter. Our membership currently is at 60 active members. If you are interested in joining our department, we ask that you contact our station at 315-736-1238.

This past year your fund drive donations were used to purchase:

• New Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
• New Firefighting Personal Protective Gear
• Various Fire Prevention Programs and equipment
• Emergency Medical Equipment

Our firefighters attended a combined total of over 4,500 training hours not to mention the countless hours that were tied up with various incident responses in both the town and the village. We provide 24-hour emergency medical coverage seven days a week for our fire district with 20 trained EMT’s.  Our department is faced with the ever-increasing demands on the training of volunteer firefighters in this state. As you can see, our firefighters are committed to you…their residents. Many hours spent away from their homes fighting fires, extricating people from motor vehicle accidents, training or performing CPR on victims in need, our mission is to provide the best in fire and life safety protection for the residents of the village and the town as we have in the past for more than 100 years.
